Mychael Danna wins Best Original Score at the Golden Globes for 'Life of Pi'

The Golden Globes awards took place on January 13th at the Beverly Hilton hotel. In music, Mychael Danna won for Best Original Score for the movie "Life of Pi", directed by Ang Lee. This was his first time winning at the Golden Globes.

Danna beat out Alexandre Desplat, Dario Marianelli, Tom Tykwer, Johnny Klimek, Reinhold Heil and John Williams.

"This is a film of a life time" Stated Danna on stage as he accepted his award.
"I want to thank Fox for being crazy enough to make this movie." He also thanked Ang Lee and his wife who he said was the most beautiful woman in a room with all the Hollywood stars in the room.

Danna is also a double nominee as he is nominated for Best Original Song and Best Score for the Oscars.

He will face off against Adele at the Oscars for Best Original. Adele won the Golden Globe for her song Skyfall". They will face"Suddenly" from "Les Misérables" Music by Claude-Michel Schönberg; Lyric by Herbert Kretzmer and Alain Boublil, "Before My Time" from "Chasing Ice" by Music and Lyric by J. Ralph, and "Everybody Needs A Best Friend" from "Ted" by Music by Walter Murphy; Lyric by Seth MacFarlane.

In the Best Score Danna will face Alexandre Desplat, Dario Marianelli, John Williams
and Thomas Newman.

The Oscars will air on February 24 on ABC.
