Mya denies affair with Jay Z: Will Beyonce believe her?

Mya denies Jay Z affair rumors, but Beyonce keeps them alive

Mya denies that she and Jay Z have been hooking up behind Beyonce's back, and the "Best of Me" singer better hope that Queen Bey believes her. Beyonce is one of the most powerful women in the music industry, so another female singer would be crazy to mess with her man. Crossing Bey would probably be a career killer.

According to a July 3 report by the Daily News, Mya did a pretty convincing job denying the affair claims when she responded to a question about them on Instagram. "Never did, never was, never will," she wrote. She went on to blast the media for spreading the affair rumors by writing, "Illegitimate, thirsty sources with no facts and that's the 'media' for you - especially today. I play second to no one, pay my own bills, have my own label, own management company, rely on God only and respect myself & marriage too much for nonsense."

It's pretty crazy that people believed the Jay Z cheating rumors in the first place. They were born as a blind item on the Crazy Days And Nights website, and the popular gossip site MediaTakeOut helped to spread them. Neither site is very reputable. The Crazy Days and Nights report claimed that Mya has been Jay Z's mistress for years and that she's basically living off of him now.

Even though Mya denies the affair claims, it's doubtful that the Jay Z cheating rumors will die down any time soon, and it's even possible that Beyonce believes them. Bey recently added fuel to the raging tabloid fire by tweaking the lyrics to her song "Resentment" during a concert in Cincinnati. To make sure that fans knew she was singing about Jay Z, she changed the lyrics "Been ridin' with you for six years" to "Been ridin' with you for 12 years." She then added the lyric, "She ain't even half of me. That b***h will never be."

Of course some fans thought that Beyonce was referencing Mya in the added lyric, and, if she was, then obviously she has a valid, non-tabloid-related reason to believe that the affair really happened (since Bey is a celebrity who is used to having untrue stories written about her, you know she isn't going to just blindly believe a tabloid claim). However, it's also entirely possible that Queen Bey is just having a little fun with all these cheating rumors. Because of them, she and her husband keep becoming headline news. Beyonce and Jay Z have a joint tour to promote, and all this drama is probably just helping them sell tickets. There have been reports that tickets aren't selling as well as expected, but now people might be more willing to shell out money to see the shows – they're not just getting a chance to see Beyonce; they're getting a chance to see Beyonce say something that might turn into another huge tabloid story.

Do you think that Jay Z and Beyonce are really having relationship problems, or is Bey just turning tall tabloid tales into a way to drum up better ticket sales?
