My Wild Irish Rose and Other Flowers of Ireland: A Slideshow (Photos)

Last summer, when I made a pilgrimage to Ireland, where my paternal roots lie, the flowers wowed me. I knew I could expect castles and cathedrals, literary history, pubs, Irish music, round towers, high crosses, and the magnificent coast, but nobody ever told me about the glorious flowers of Ireland.

Here, for your enjoyment, I share some of my favorite shots of an Irish rose and other flowers of Ireland.
