Last night, I had my first one night stand. . . don’t get too excited, I’m a soon to be married woman, so I don’t mean THAT kind of stand. Rather, I went to my first movie premiere, and I was on my feet almost all night. Did I stand because there was no seating? No, in fact there were several lusciously inviting chairs that, I’ll admit, I indulged in every once in a while. But rather, there was so much entertainment, I couldn’t have stayed sitting even if I wanted to. Let me fill you in . . .
Mez and Epicentre Theatres received their own makeover last night, with a transformation into a world of pink decor, cosmopolitans, and sex. . . in the city 2 that is. My friend and I were fortunate enough to have tickets to the VIP lounge, which had a balcony overlooking the red carpet show. But alongside a good view, they also had a heavenly pampering experience. Tables included jewelry by Traci Lynn Fashion Jewelry, handbags by 1st Class Bags and Accessories , a Pure Romance stand, and even a makeup counter by Trendi Blends, where touch ups and makeovers were given all evening. Turns out, VIP actually means very important pampering.
But while the pampering was heavenly, the food was divine. You could smell the delicious aroma before the waiters and waitresses even hit the stairs. And as soon as the different plates of sushi and barbeque sliders made it to the table, there was a mad dash for the food. My adorable new shoes may have been putting me through that break them in hell, but I was willing to stand in line for those delectable treats.
The VIP floor provided for the ultimate pampering experience, but where it was really going down, was downstairs. Whether it was half naked men, or the fashion show by Dolce and Gabbana, there was a lot to have us ladies drooling over.
There was also a performance by Anna Kooiman and her girls who showcased an energetic fitness routine, so energetic in-fact, I ran out of breath just watching them. Another show worth high mention was the lady in a belly dancing outfit recreating the Single Ladies dance by Beyonce- and girls, she could move (for pictures of the entertainment, watch slideshow below).
My friend and I were back and forth between the two levels all night, so I got to see the runway show and the VIP room performance. But from my perspective, there’s nothing like being right in front of the runway when watching a fashion show.
I know what you’re wondering: what about the movie? Well, you’re on the wrong column for that review, and I’m not one to spoil it for those who haven’t seen it. But I will say this, if you like Sex and the City. . . well, what the hell are you waiting for? Book your tickets for tomorrow!
As for me, I had the best kind of one night stand there is- the kind that wears you out. So I’ll be spending the rest of my day in bed.
