On Wednesday, electro-industrial legends My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult will be playing in Detroit at The Shelter along with DJ Toxic Rainbow and will then be in Grand Rapids on Thursday playing at the Intersection.
Formed in a Chicago bar in 1987, the band has been entertaining with their controversial sounds and provocative live shows ever since.
My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult is out supporting their latest release Spooky Tricks, which is their 13th studio album.
Released in May, Spooky Tricks is the band's first release in five years and they chose to change things up a bit as they move away from the darker/heavier industrial atmosphere of 2009's Death Threats and more towards sleazy dance-floor thumpers.
Still, the band's signature distorted guitars and a hint of old school synths remain.
At times, the album recalls 70's disco and 80's new wave and mixes provocative lyrics with film samples that makes for a solid, highly energetic listen.
Known for their elaborate stage show and visual effects, this time out My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult invited fans to be a part of the experience, inviting producers and artists of all genres to be heard in a series of unique, 30-minute podcasts broadcast during the tour.
Creative fans could submit musical content, photos, drawings, videography and animation.
It's just one more aspect of what should be a killer live show.
