My Jerusalem to Perform at Deep Ellum Arts Festival

Don’t know about you, but I am pretty psyched for this year’s Deep Ellum Arts Festival. Not only is it FREE, but the lineup of musicians performing is AMAZING. One of these awesome bands you do NOT want to miss: My Jerusalem

The Austin-based indie rock band will be taking time away from working on their upcoming record to grace one of the stages at the festival with their music. This will be My Jerusalem’s first time performing in Dallas since New Years Eve at the Gas Monkey Bar N Grill – glad to have them back!

Although the band has not released a new record since their second full-length album Preachers in late 2012, they are currently in the writing process. My Jerusalem’s founder and singer, Jeff Klein, said they plan on recording soon and should release a new album towards the end of the year. Klein said the new material a “sort of a continuation of Preachers – calling it a “sexy, dark record.” Gotta say, I like the sound of that!

Now, of course MJ will be playing their older tunes at the festival, but will they give us a sneak peak of the new material? YES. Klein confirmed they will perform some new songs from the yet-to-be-titled album.

The 20th annual Deep Ellum Arts Festival will cover six blocks of Main Street in the Deep Ellum entertainment district April 4-6. Admission is free – so there is no excuse, Dallas! My Jerusalem will perform at The Pabst Stage on Saturday, April 5 at 7:50 pm. Make sure to stick around after to check out Astronautalis!
