My iPhone, my assistant

Last Tuesday, Apple revealed the next iteration of its ever-popular iPhone, named the iPhone 4S. To everyday shoppers, the device might not seem all that different than the previous version, but beneath its identical exterior it has a host of improvements that will make you want to throw your current phone into an industrial blender. Things like a faster processor or a dual-transmitting redesigned antenna might not mean much to most, but make no mistake, the iPhone 4S makes a leap into the future with the addition of Siri, an embedded artificial intelligence that lets users interact with their phone entirely through voice commands.

Need to send an email while driving to work? Tell it what you want to say, and Siri can do that.

Want to listen to your favorite club remix of “Wind Beneath My Wings” while kneading bread dough? Siri can do that, too.

Have to place an emergency call while on the run from escaped, ravenous alpacas? Siri can help you out there, also. Just don’t slow down.

Siri really is the killer feature of this year’s iPhone model. Hands-on impressions so far have been overwhelmingly positive, saying that trying to stump Siri (who can pull information from various search engines and internet databases) is like arguing with your mother, who, let’s face it, was always right, too.

With Christmas coming up around the bend, the iPhone 4S would make a perfect gift for the tech-lover in the family. Or, anyone living near an alpaca farm.
