‘My Homeland’ brings Miami’s Mainly Mozart Festival to a close on Sunday

An powerful program of music and dance entitled “My Homeland” will bring the Miami Chamber Music Society’s Mainly Mozart Festival XXI to a close.

The program will be performed tomorrow, June 22, at 4 p.m. in the Knight Concert Center at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.

The program features internationally acclaimed performers Canadian violinist Yi-Jia Susanne Hou, Israeli cellist Amit Peled, and pianist Marina. They will be joined by Miami City Ballet dancers.

Yi-Jia Susanne Hou is the first ever violinist to capture three Gold Medals with unanimous Juries at three International Violin Competitions

Amit Peled – a musician of profound artistry and charismatic stage presence – is acclaimed as one of the most exciting instrumentalists on the concert stage today.

Marina Radiushina is a member of Carnegie Hall's resident chamber group, Ensemble ACJW, performing to sold-out houses in some of the most prestigious venues of New York City.

Adriana Pierce is currently in her fifth season with Miami City Ballet under the direction of Lourdes Lopez. She also danced with New York City Ballet at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theatre, The Kennedy Center, and the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.

The music features masterpieces by Rachmaninoff, Dvorak, Ravel, and Bartok. The program will also include the world premiere of a work choreographed by Miami-based ballet dancer and choreographer Adriana Pierce, and performed by dancers form the Miami City Ballet.

The Mainly Mozart Festival is now in its 21st season.

Tickets are $40.
