My Greek Corner - Surprise, AZ

My Greek Corner

The smell of oregano and garlic permeate the air as the door opens assuring one and all that this Greek food is the real deal. The food comes from Greece via New York – family recipes brought from the old country, carefully tested and prepared. The Gyros are mouthwatering, full of spiced lamb, onions, tomatoes all set off with the tang of Tzatiki. One can select the gyro platter, or have it wrapped up in one of the most delicious Gryo sandwiches this side of the Aegean. Even the calamari has a Greek flair!

Squid is tricky to cook, too long or too short a cook time and it comes out like chewing gum, but the cooks at My Greek Corner have nailed it, lightly bread and spiced the calamari is a delight. They haven't forgotten the vegans, there is a Greek salad and a vegetarian platter as well - Humus and pita, baklava, it is all there! There is  Souvlaki and tender marinated lamb for the meat lovers. The lamb is cooked to perfection and can be had on Pita or platter.

There are pseudo-Greek restaurants with buxom young girls dancing arm in arm and plate smashing, but for an authentic taste of Greece My Greek Corner is the place, so forget the touristy fufarah and come for a taste of Greece.  Besides the great food it is also an opportunity to meet some wonderful people.

The manager/owner took time out to talk, the servers are caring and friendly and the prices are very reasonable.  There isn’t a bad meal on the menu!  Make sure to save room for the Baklava!!

I also ate at this place and it was outstanding. While I was there I found out that they will be soon serving breakfast and going sit service as well. Great news because from Chicago to here there is good greek food. It is the talk at my workplace, the portions and the freshness for the PRICE !!!
