My Favorite Hip Hop Song Of The 2000's is...

Hands down it has to be Lil Mo & Fabolous' "Superwoman Part II".  Released back in the spring of 2001, it catapulted the careers of both artists, and became one of the biggest hip-hop songs of that year.

Lil Mo, who was raised on Long Island, was more known for being a guest vocalist on tracks, being on songs like Missy Elliott's "Hot Boyz" and Ja Rule & Vita's "Put It On Me".  When she released "Superwoman Part II" everything changed.  The song hit number 4 on the Billboard R&B Charts and number 11 on The Billboard Hot 100, something very hard for a breakthrough R&B artist to do at the time. It was played on heavy repeat on MTV and BET, and was one of the first big videos for the new BET staple "106th & Park". Her album "Based On A True Story" did well on the charts as well.

Since then, she has guested on tracks like "If I Could Go" (Angie Martinez) and "Can't Let You Go" (Fabolous & Mike Shorey).  Both tracks did very well on the charts, and kept her name in everyone's mouths.  She has also released three critically acclaimed albums that was well received by the public and critics alike.  To hear the song, click on the video provided in this link.  Enjoy!!
