My experience with my MagicBand and FastPass+ at Walt Disney World

As a Walt Disney World annual passholder, I knew all about MagicBands and FastPass+, but I hadn't used the program until I want to the parks for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train media event. After trying out the ease of getting into the park and accessing my pre-booked rides and shows with the MagicBand, I have to give it a big thumbs up. I love being able to get FastPasses before I even get to the parks and to not have to keep track of all those little paper slips.

Of course, if you don't want to book your FastPasses online, you can still do it in the parks. Just look for one of the handy FastPass+ kiosks (hint: the ones at the front of the parks are the most crowded, so don't just run to the first one you see).

If you'd like to see some MagicBand photos (including the cute custom design for the media event) and see some scenes from my experience, check out the slideshow accompanying this article. Much of the media event was devoted to the MyMagic+ program, so if you'd like to learn more about that, go to this article and watch the very useful video with travel guru Samantha Brown.

Sure, you could still have fun at the Disney parks back when there were only standby lines and parade and fireworks viewing spots were first come, first served, but that's a thing of the past now. If you try out MyMagic+, and especially the MagicBands and FastPass+, you'll get addicted as quickly as I did when you see just how smooth it makes your visit.
