Today, this Examiner had an opportunity to speak with Billy Blanks about some of his eating habits. As a first timer at ilovekickboxing in Cherry Hill, NJ, it was a surprise to see Billy Blanks walk into this location to surprise the members there. Billy Blanks is the creator of Tae Bo Fitness. Chances are you heard of him and his total body workouts. Not only is he a fitness expert, but he holds many titles, such as an author and world karate champion, just to name a few.
When asked, he mentioned that he does not take supplements to help enhance his workouts, but that he, ‘just eats’ which brought laughter to those that heard him. He did mention that wheat grass is something he enjoys, which brought me to the internet to look up what wheat grass is and how it can be used.
Wheat grass is loaded with nutrients, including iron, calcium, magnesium, amino acids, chlorophyll, and vitamins A, C and E. If you have wheat or grass allergy, celiac disease or gluten intolerance, check with your physician before using wheat grass. It’s available in many forms, including tablets, capsules, powder or liquid form.
After purchasing wheat grass juice from Soloray, I was able to find suggestions on how to make this ‘power shot’ appealing by adding lemon to it. The instructions on the package were to mix one dropper in six ounces of water. Instead of a fresh lemon to squirt in the glass, I used 1 1/2 TBS of Real Lemon Juice. It had an interesting taste.
If you have some time to spare and some money to spend, Billy Blanks will be leading a Tae Bo class at ilovekickboxing in Cherry Hill, NJ at 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm. The cost to participate will be $45 per person, which includes the workout, autograph, and a picture with Billy Blanks. Just want to watch and be a spectator? Then the cost will be $15.
If you go, let them know how you found out about the class at ilovekickboxing. If you know a way to improve the taste of wheat grass, then please share!
