This is an amazing story where a young boy is saved by his cat. According to the 23 ABCNews story reported May 14, a Southwest Bakersfield boy was saved from a dog attack.
Four year old Jeremy, who is mildly autistic, was playing on his bicycle Tuesday when the neighbor's 8-month-old lab/chow mix snuck up behind him, biting Jeremy on the leg.
Tara, the family cat, can be seen running up to save Jeremy after the dog comes around a vehicle, grabbing Jeremy by the leg and pulling him backward.
GRAPHIC WARNING: The past half of the video shows the bite wound, and may upset some viewers.
Jeremy's mom, Erica Triantafilo was nearby watering a tree and her her son screaming. It wasn't until her husband showed her the surveillance video that Erica realized how much danger Jeremy had been in.
Jeremy considers Tara his hero. He had to get a few stitches from the dog bite, but otherwise he's doing well.Roger Triantafilo, Jeremy's father told news media
"I've never seen a cat do that. Especially ours. It just shows how much she really has a family-oriented mind set."
Erica posted on her Facebook page
"We aren't upset with our neighbors, we're just thankful our son wasn't injured more. Thank you to everyone, our cat is my hero!"
This story proves just how protective a cat can be over the family she loves. Tara risked her life when she made the decision to protect her young human servant. Kudos, Tara, you are truly a heroine.
