My Best of Travel 2012: Adventures in Seven Countries and Eight States (Photos)

Compared to those professionals who really log in the air miles, my seven countries and eight states is but a mere droplet in the travel bucket. Tom Stucker, an auto dealership consultant who travels around the world, racked up more than a million miles on United Airlines in 2012. You can read more about Stucker's travel achievement in an article by Joe Sharkey of The New York Times.

And then there's U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who according to Politico visited 71 countries and traveled 261,042 miles during 19 trips since January 2012. That's more than any other Secretary of State.

I have no idea how many miles I flew in 2012, I suppose I should start keeping track. And although I didn't break any records like Stucker and Clinton, I managed to visit seven countries and eight states during the past year. They included: US, Canada, Holland, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, California, Michigan, South Dakota, Illinois. It wasn't easy selecting a photo to represent each area, but here are 14 images that capture yet another fun year of travel. Bon Voyage to all in 2013!
