In 2012, I had the good fortune of writing many entertaining and factual articles about bands and solo artists coming to the Louisville, Kentucky region. These included acts such as Motley Crue, KISS, Casting Crowns, Hank Jr., Hatebreed, Hurt, and many others. In particular, I was able to receive some good fortune from my efforts writing about the Anthrax, Testament & Death Angel event at Expo 5. Due to my online exposure, Heidi Ellen Robinson Fitzgerald, the longtime publicist from Los Angeles for Anthrax, asked me to cover this show. I had already intended to do so, so it wasn't a problem. I took some direction from her on how the piece should read and crafted one of my best articles to date! In return for this, I was given a free copy of Anthrax's new album "Worship Music" and put on the VIP tickets list to attend the show for free!
As always, Anthrax did not disappoint, even though drummer Charlie Benante missed the event. Testament was super amazing live, and Death Angel held court as the opening act. I have also formed a loose connection with local music promoter Terry Harper as a result of my concert coverage in Louisville. I hope 2013 brings new challenges and new awards (or freebies) for me. Thanks to all the readers I have monthly that follow my writing on this web site! It's truly appreciated.
