Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue will be attending the 2014 My Furry Valentine event on Saturday, February 15, and Sunday, February 16. My Furry Valentine is a Super Animal Adoption event that gathers hundreds of adoptable puppies, dogs, kittens, cats and small pocket pets from dozens of local rescues and shelters. Our main event in West Chester, Ohio at Flexi USA hosts more than 500 animals under one roof.
There will be family friendly games, including face painting, a caricature artist, a balloon artist, and live entertainment.
This year’s event will feature more than 500 adoptable pets (dogs, cats, rabbits, pocket pets, rats, mice, ferrets and amphibians!) from more than 40 different rescue and shelter groups from around the Greater Cincinnati area. Every pet adopted will go home with a free goody bag overflowing with pet supplies, a free collar and leash (courtesy of Alcott) and will be entered to win any of our adopter raffle baskets valued between $100 – $500.
There will also be food, beverages, and snacks available to purchase but admission and parking is free.
The event location is 8494 Firebird Drive West Chester, OH 45014.
Please note that there is expected to be over 5000 visitors over the course of the weekend, which means it’s busy inside and parking is available in multiple locations near the warehouse. Be prepared to walk to the warehouse from your parking space or shuttles will be continuously driving to and from the parking lots to the event. Please follow the instructional signs located around the parking areas and West Chester police officers will help direct traffic safely. Once you’re inside the Main Event, please expect to walk even more. The event happens in a 50,000 square feet warehouse so please dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and carpool if you can.
Please keep in mind that there are over 40 different shelters and rescue groups participating and each one has different adoption protocols in place. Not every group does on site adoptions but they'll have adoption applications at their booths. This event is also a good time to volunteer to foster. Most rescue groups will have foster applications as well.
Pets are not encouraged unless you're planning to adopt and want to introduce the animals to each other.
