Our MVP of the Month is Sox Populi (# 4), who has been with TRG since 2010! Watch out for her on the track as she knocks her opponents’ socks off as she hits them in the pack (as well as rocks everyone's socks off when she dances at after parties!). What's a typical day or week like for you?
Taking care of my son, work, practice, and trying to squeeze in the extra workout or run when I can.
With such a busy life what keeps you motivated with roller derby?
Knowing that no matter how worn out from the day I may be, once I get my skates on I forget all about it.
What is your skate gear of choice?
I love my Bonts (skates). I'm hard on equipment, and they look like I might get more than one season out of them.
Who are your roller derby heroes?
TRG! We Got This!
Do you have a motivational quote?
Just keep going forward. No matter how long it takes, you will get there.
Do you have a signature move?
I've gotten pretty good at my sideways skating.
Do you have any advice for anyone who is thinking about joining roller derby?
It takes a lot more time and work than you realize at first, but it's worth it.
What animal do you think describes you?
I'd say I'm part ox, part pink wolf.
