According to a press release from the Nassau County, N.Y., SPCA, a pit bull mix puppy is recovering after someone cut off her ears and one, rear leg.
According to the release, a press conference will be held on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at My Pets Vet in Huntington, N.Y.
Detective Robert Sowers, a spokesman for the Nassau County SPCA, stated:
"We are asking the public and animal lovers to help us in our efforts to raise funds for the needed surgeries and care that this poor puppy faces. More importantly, for this sweet little girl who has been named "Miss Harper" we have to find a loving home."
Miss Harper has been receiving care from Dr. Bridget Brooke and her staff since she was brought in by the SPCA back in September.
Officials are still looking for the person(s) responsible for the pup's heinous injuries. Anyone with information is asked to call the SPCA at 516-843-7722.
