Mustang Brewing Company is releasing a new beer in March. They will be introducing a Pale Ale to the Oklahoma masses. Be on the lookout for Pawnee Pale.
The guys at Mustang describe Pawnee Pale as, “an American-style Pale Ale. A tantalizing blend of German Perle and U.S. Pacific Northwest hops give this beer a moderate, citrus, hop quality. American, British, and caramel malts provide a rich maltiness not found in most pale ales.” The beer is reported to come in at 6% ABV with 42 IBU’s. This doesn’t sound like many IBU’s for a Pale Ale, but Mustang has been known more for drinkability then full flavor when it comes to their brews. This will be an intriguing beer to try.
What also makes this beer interesting is that it was brewed in Oklahoma. Their beers so far have been developed in Oklahoma, but brewed out of state. Mustang President, Tim Schoelen described the collaboration,
We brewed this beer in Krebs, OK, through a partnership with the great guys at CHOC. As the pioneers of Oklahoma beer companies, CHOC has a long, successful history. If you have not made the pilgrimage to Krebs to visit the brewery, you really should. It was truly a pleasure to work hand-in-hand with Michael, Zach and BJ to brew this beer…Pawnee Pale marks our first partnership with CHOC. Their 15 barrel system allows us an opportunity to brew our newer offerings close to home. All our recipes will continue to be developed in our pilot facility in Oklahoma City. We’ll brew as much as we can in OK(lahoma) until we hit the need to move production to the larger, 100 barrel system in Stevens Point, WI.
There will be launch nights for Pawnee Pale throughout March. I’ll try to keep you advised on the when’s and where’s. As Pale Ale is one of my favorite styles, I’m looking forward to trying this one. Be on the lookout and grab a pint, and let me know what you think about Pawnee Pale.
Cheers!
