Many restaurant chains emerge today; but several eating places are likewise fading slowly. A few years ago, there are restaurants that have made a name in the industry and became part of our growing up. They have branches in various places but you might want to drop by the main branch if you are just in town. Here is a list of restaurants that you might want to try before they might disappear.
Blimpie - Scottsdale, Arizona
Before Subway became a hot pick, Blimpie is a favorite destination of people who crave for submarine sandwiches. From its Blimpie best subs to chicken caesar wrap, this fast food chain has won the heart of various customers like students, office workers, kids and just about everyone. Its first store opened in Hoboken, New Jersey in 1964 and has expanded through branches in different areas. But in 2007, Blimpie was purchased by the franchising company, Kahala. Blimpie also offers salads and other fast food products.
Ponderosa Steakhouse - Orlando, Florida
One goal of Ponderosa is to bring the spirit of Old West to every customer. They offer a wide variety of Western flavors specifically sumptuous steaks and mouth watering seafood. The restaurant is known for its expansive buffet which features huge array of dishes such as beef, chicken, fresh veggies and fruits, pasta, salad, etc. But just like other dining franchises, it experienced troubles and eventually, its parent company filed for bankruptcy in 2008. The mother company is now called Homestyle Dining, but its steakhouses are gone.
TCBY - Broomfield, Colorado
First known as “This Can’t Be Yogurt” in 1981, TCBY later on became “The Country’s Best Yogurt” offering many flavors of frozen yogurt. Some flavors include vanilla, chocolate and white chocolate mousse. The chain has enticed a lot of people specially the younger ones. In 2000, it was purchased by Mrs. Fields Holdings. But despite the positive projection, the merged establishment filed for bankruptcy protection in 2008. Many TCBY stores have shut down between 2001 to 2011 leaving approximately 405 locations - as of 2011.
Sure, there are plenty of fast food chains you can find. One can easily go to dining places along the road or in city hotels, like Eastside Cannery Hotel; but those restaurants that we have grown up with are hard to forget especially the taste and smell of the food.
