Between 70,000 and 100,000 people are expected to visit the Colorado Convention Center this week for the Denver Auto Show. More than 500 vehicles from various automakers are on display. Members of the Rocky Mountain Automotive Press got a sneak peek at the vehicles today and here are some that you should see.
The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was voted the Rocky Mountain Truck of the Year. The Silverado was singled out for its high quality cabin and its efficient, but powerful engines. The all new 2014 Jeep Cherokee was chosen as the Rocky Mountain SUV of the Year. The new mid-size Jeep is fuel efficient and can go off-roading, everything Jeep is known for. The 2014 Lexus IS250/350 gets the award for the Rocky Mountain Car of the Year. The Lexus IS is all-wheel drive and is known for its design and handling.
The Convention Center is loaded with the latest in vehicle technology. The show floor features everything from the smallest Smart Cars to the largest trucks. It even features Camp Jeep where you can ride along as a driver puts the Jeeps through its off-road course. There is also a display of alternative energy vehicles, including electric and CNG powertrains.
The auto show also gives people a chance to dream about owning a sports car. The newly redesigned 2015 Ford Mustang is right near the front doors. The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is also on display. The ultra-sleek Lamborghini is always a crowd favorite. Maseratis are represented as well. One of the latest in luxury Jaguars, a red F-Type, is on display in a convertible version perfect for Spring.
The Denver Auto Show runs from April 9-13.
