The place is so full of natural beauty, long strips of lush green and great highways, along with interesting people and numerous events, that it leaves no stone unturned to make you return happy from there.
The USA has no dearth of great vacation locations, yet why do you need to visit Wilmington in the Delaware state in particular? The reasons are as below:
An abundance of art and culture
Great food and wine
Heritage Walk through the city
Let us have a quick look at the events coming up this autumn!
Longwood Fountains – Musical Shows
We have the Fountains at Longwood, which is a collection of beautiful fountains arranged along the green patches of well-manicured gardens that you can walk through.
The sun is not going to be scorching and you will simply enjoy the walks through the mild weather assisted by a gentle breeze. While the gardens will be open 9-5 from September 22 to October 17, 2013, the Friday and Saturday evenings will arrange for musical fountain shows too in this period!
A City Tour
The city is a historic one with patches of stories of old traditions and collections preserved here and there. The best way to know the nerves of a city is to take a walking tour. If well-informed guides assist it, nothing can be better than that.
Delaware History Museum arranges for such heritage tours through parts of the city. The entry fee is $5 and a group of minimum 6 persons is desired. The initiative has taken off since March. 2013, and has no plans to end very soon owing to the great response.
Open Studio for Watercolor Artists
The Blue Studio offers a unique opportunity for watercolor artists to use its facilities free of cost at its location at the Center for Creative Arts. Any artist can walk in and have the experience of working in here, with a prior booking of course. The initiative is on since March 2013.
No vacation can be complete without wines and liquor. Now you can taste the special beverages that are prepared here at the Twin Lakes Brewery. Here, you get not only the local varieties but also those that you will die for in any major city. The admission fees are $22.50 with special discount for the seniors at $20.00.
The Great Brunch
The famous Sunday brunch at Columbus Inn is back. It’s a brunch buffet at $20 for adults and $10 for the children. It serves you a great many varieties of food starting from Western to Oriental and seafood to delicacies in sizzlers and meat. A good vacation demands good food too!
Delaware Art Museum
It allows free entry to art lovers on Sundays and it is a major attraction for the tourists. It promotes a lot of young artists, besides the renowned ones, and interesting exhibits are always on display.
