"I am even prouder that both my sons have served as soldiers for this country..."
An Arab Muslim woman is chiding her fellow Muslims to stop placing the blame on Jewish men for the rapes of Muslim women throughout the Arab World, as reported by Israel Today on Feb. 13, 2013.
Resident of the mixed Israeli-Arab northern Israeli town of Acre (Akko), Anet Haskia recently protested on-line of the false charges of Muslim women in Egypt supposedly raped wholesale at the hands of Jewish men.
Long an activist of Arab Muslims and Israeli Jews living together in peace, Haskia stated on her FaceBook page:
"We are talking about the rape of Arab women in Egypt and other Arab states, and you still try to make a connection to Israel?
Jewish men do not rape Arab women and girls!
It is Arab Muslim men who are raping you, so focus this campaign on them and leave Israel alone."
Proud of her Israeli citizenship, Haskia was recently interviewed by the news portal IsraelSeen.com, in which the mother of three didn't mince words:
"I am proud to live in Israel.
I am even prouder that both my sons have served as soldiers for this country."
Expressing a desire to one day serve her country in elected office, Haskia didn't hold back her disgust and distrust of the terrorist organization Hamas who currently controls the Gaza Strip to the south:
"If I was living in Gaza, I would have no rights as a woman under Hamas.
And you can’t expect anything different—Hamas is a terror organization, they treat people like animals with no regard to human life.
They will never hold democratic elections like they do in Israel.”
They DON'T Speak For Me...
None too thrilled with both Arab Muslim and Jewish liberals in the Israeli legislative body, the Knesset, Haskia opened fire with a double barreled shotgun's worth of her up-front and plain spoken honesty and truth:
"The Arab MKs [Members of the Knesset] in the Israeli Knesset don’t represent me.
The extremist left-wing in Israel also doesn’t represent me and others in my community who share my beliefs.
Those corrupt politicians just contribute to hate, incitement and lies."
Speaking only as a mother to two combat soldiers could speak:
“When an IDF [Israeli Defense Force] soldier is killed in combat, not one Arab MK will stand up and offer his condolences to the bereaved family.
These Arab MKs enjoy democratic rights but don’t appreciate them."
A New Generation...?
As far as her political ambitions are concerned, she's made no secret that she wants to improve Muslim/Jewish relations as an elected official:
"I want to be part of Israeli politics some day and make a change by representing my people politically.
There are many people who are too scared to speak up, who love Israel like I do and have done well here.
They want a future where their children will not fall to hatred and incitement, but overcome that.
I want to be their voice."
