Muslim woman becomes one of People's Food Co-op newest local producers

The People's Food Co-op, or the PFC, located on Ann Arbor's Fourth Ave is a community-owned natural food and health store.   One of the most recent products to be displayed on PFC shelves is an organic whipped shea butter mix for the whole body -- produced by a Muslim.

A local yoga instructor and massage practictioner, Kimi Honzaki, is the creator and distributor of the Beautiful Shea Butter product which she says serves as an "all-in-one beauty balm".  The impetus for creating such a product was Honzaki's desire to perfect a blend to use on her massage therapy clients.

“It’s really more for the love of the product that I do this.  My prices are much more accessible than other Shea products, and that’s how I’d like to keep it.  Shea has a lot of healing qualities, and I’d like people to be able to benefit from it,” asserts Honzaki.

The Beautiful Shea Butter line offers a variety of scents including Mango, Pure Lavender, Jasmine-Ylang, and Mandarin Orange Blossom.  Additionally, Honzaki is open to doing custom blends and scents as they are requested.

See Honzaki's local producer profile at the PFC website and contact her directly here: BeautifulSheaButter@gmail.com. Try the product and leave a comment and you may be featured on this channel for a customer review!

5% of the profits will go to Doula’s Care, a non-profit organization in Ann Arbor that provides support to birthing women with limited resources in the community.
