Why is it that American media insists on presenting the Muslim Brotherhood as “moderates”?
This is the existing credo of the Muslim Brotherhood; “Allah is our objective, the Quran is our law, the Prophet is our leader, Jihad is our way, and death for the sake of Allah is the highest of our aspirations”.
Sharia law is the platform in which the Muslim Brotherhood works. A theocratic government under the strict control of Islamic rule is paramount. There is no option for individuals of other religions, secular Muslim, or even moderate Muslims. The Muslim Brotherhood was alienating anyone in Egypt not following strict Islamic law.
With all the intolerance being leveled against groups outside the Muslim Brotherhood philosophy, there are also unsubstantiated rumors that the Muslim Brotherhood played a role the unrest in Cairo while the embassy attack in Benghazi was taking place. President Mohammed Morsi was arrested shortly after evidence was uncovered of Muslim Brotherhood complicity.
The Muslim Brotherhood has a history of using violence to obtain their political aim. The Brotherhood was banned several times since its inception in 1928 because of violence, political assassinations, and political aspirations of the leadership.
Hassan al-Banna founded the Muslim Brotherhood and he had a vision of implementing a federation of Islamic countries from ocean to ocean through Europe and Asia.
The popularity of the Muslim Brotherhood comes from its effective ability to mobilize supporters and to efficiently assist the poorer groups of society with various social programs. Although a majority of Egyptians are for Sharia law, the Muslim Brotherhood’s exclusionary policy that leaves other minority voices on the outside looking in has generated a huge backlash.http://www.examiner.com/article/muslim-brotherhood-extends-terrorism-against-christians-egypt-and-beyond?cid=db_articles
The draconian thinking of Muslim Brotherhood’s policy on rights for females came out when the Brotherhood denounced the United Nations policy that came against violence on women.
Egypt’s minority Christian population has been suffering greatly since the Muslim Brotherhood came to power.
In spite of the track record of the Muslim Brotherhood, its own charter, and the credo that “jihad is our way”, there is a strange effort to label the Brotherhood as moderates. One would have difficulty in this era to label anyone following “death is our highest aspiration for Allah” as a moderate stance, however this is the approach of the enlightened media to fudge that Muslim Brotherhood followers are moderates.
The Muslim Brotherhood is at war by policy against anyone not following strict Sharia law, and that includes the Muslim moderates as discovered by the Egyptians themselves.http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/insideisrael/2013/August/After-Record-Bloodshed-Egypt-May-Ban-Brotherhood/
The moderate moniker just does not stick.
