Barnett, who resides in Lehigh Acres, Fla. is not only a harp builder and player, but he is also a professional film, TV and voiceover actor. Today he was able to share with Examiner.com about his musician side - harp building.
"Well, I finally completed the construction of the new Paraguayan harp. I was given the required strings as a Christmas gift."
There are many kinds of harps, and Barnett shares about his latest.
"This most recent harp I've built is a Paraguayan 'styled' arpa (meaning harp). It is just a bit larger and heavier than a typical Paraguayan harp. Instead of the usual 10-14 pounds, mine weighs in at 20."
"The strings are now installed, and the instrument has a full rich voice of both bass and treble. However it will take about a month for the strings and the wood to settle in and stay in tune.
I have other harps, and I play at a variety of events."
Barnett has recently been cast in a UFTA produced film, "Casting."
