Atlanta fans of musician Paul McCartney, the former Beatle was honored today, February 10, 2012, at the 2012 MusiCares Person of the Year Tribute to Paul McCartney held at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Singer Katy Perry stole quite a bit of the limelight at the event in her head-turner of a hat, a huge rose in a blush pink which matched the ribbon belting her lace-trimmed pale gown, her hair looking particularly blue tonight!
Nancy Shevell, the newly-wedded wife of Musicares’ honoree Paul McCartney in his all-black ensemble, wore a lovely cream dress with black and teal floral detail, accessorizing with matching shoes, that were either black and white lace or snakeskin but they matched quite perfectly!
Though I cannot possible cover everyone attending in my article, the long list of A-listers attending included Yoko Ono (in her gorgous hat!), Tony and Antonia Bennett, Diana Krall (loved the royal purple gown!), Elvis Costello (who matched Ms Krall with his purple hat band!), Alicia Keys (that necklace was regal!), Smokey and Frances Robinson (loved the lime green suit!), son James McCartney and Jade Nazareth, Sir Richard Branson, John Stamos (looking incredibly handsome in his sharp suit!), Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson (loved the goddess gown!), singer Kerli (a very futuristic gown but the hairstyle with antennae was something else!), James Taylor and Kim Smedvig, Brian Wilson (loved the cream brocade jacket!), Corinne Bailey Rae (a glamorous chartreuse dress indeed!), Christina Perri (the Lady in Red!), and last but not least Valerie Simpson in her bronze ensemble.
Congratulations to Paul McCartney again for at long last getting his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and on being honored by Musicare as Person of the Year and please do take a look at my slide show of this milestone in musician Paul McCartney’s career…
