Another Boston music weekend! We've got rock, pop, country and a live concert CD recording with singer songwriter Joe Silva and Ayla Brown, daughter of former United States Senator Scott Brown and wife Gail Huff.

On Friday, The Diezelband is back at the Boathouse, 294 Tyngsboro, Dracut (978) 957-7251. Diezel was formed in 2007 with Gary Massucco, John Mauriello, and Richie Laquidara from the band Busted Nutzz joining Rob Wesinger and Steve Lakos from the Maxwells. This line up remained until January 2010 when Rob had to leave and new singer Sergio Lepore joined the group. This five piece became a four piece in 2011 with the departure of Steve. Recently they are back to being a five piece with the addition of keyboard player Curtis Spargo!

Diezel is one of the hardest working bands in the area, covering a wide variety of songs from heavy to poppy, rock to rap, edgy to mellow and the list goes on.

Rock and roll blues is The Throwdown Band who will be at Celley's Pub, 742 Western Ave., Lynn, (781)595-9260 on Friday night. The ThrowDown Band came in to the Boston music scene in late 2009, and in a short time attained the reputation of a band to be reckoned with in the New Blues Era. Their first release, “Let Sleeping Dogs Lie”, was selected as the ‘Best Self-produced CD’ by the Boston Blues Society, and was submitted to the IBC for inclusion in the 2012 International Blues Competition, in Memphis.

Friday, Soul Box Band is at The Full Sail, 47 Court Street, Plymouth. Soul Box, named after a Muddy Waters song, consists of George Howard on vocals, Gregg Miller on guitar, Paul Chase on bass, Rob Megna on drums and Matt Smith on keyboards. The band is in the studio recording eight original songs for their upcoming CD which is due out in late spring 2014.

Blues brothers, The Throwdown Band will be at Celley's Pub, 742 Western Ave., Lynn, (781)595-9260 on Friday night.

On Saturday, April 12, 2014, Cassey's, 220 O'Neil Blvd., Attleboro, (508)455-0895, will have a LIVE CONCERT RECORDING with Sun Studio Recording Artist, singer song writer Joe Silva and American Idol's Ayla Brown. Dark Hill Music will be recording live at this concert for a possible live CD release.

OD Jubilee, a Black Crowe's Tribute Band, will be at Pete's Bar and Grill in Quincy on Saturday. Comprised of five seasoned musicians from Boston Massachusetts, OD Jubilee meticulously recreates the tight yet loose, bluesy vibe The Crowes have cultivated over the last 25 years. Powerful, soulful vocals, interwoven guitars, and a tight swinging rhythm section reminiscent of the greatest blues/rock acts of the sixties & seventies.

Six Strings Down will also be playing on Saturday at Pete's, 540 South Street, Quincy (617)471-9714. Spanning the entire SRV catalog, from his earliest club days, to his recorded works in the 1980's and posthumous releases. Six Strings Down faithfully recreates the thundering yet dynamic sound that catapulted Stevie Ray to international stardom. A Tribute to the Music and Memory of Stevie Ray Vaughan. The band is: Donnie Noyes on guitar and vocals, Justine Klein on bass, Steve Percoco on drums and Bobby Alfano on keyboards.
