Music legends appearing at the Rock Hall of Fame will be live on the internet starting next week

Public programs in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame's Foster Theatre, formerly limited to the roughly 160 seat theater capacity, will now be streamed around the world over the internet starting July 7, the Cleveland museum announced today.

The first live streamed event will feature Hall of Fame inductee Dion DiMucci discussing his career with veteran rock writer Dave Marsh and Dr. Lauren Onkey, the Rock Hall’s Vice President of Education and Public Programs. It will be held at 6:30 p.m. ET July 7.

To view the live stream visit: http://rockhall.com/event/hall-of-fame-series-dion/.

The program will begin with an hour-long film about Dion’s memories of the Winter Dance Party tour of 1959 with Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper done in conjunction with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum President Terry Stewart.

The Foster Theatre has added three robotic cameras to capture events to be streamed. A grant from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation in New York also enabled the Museum to redesign its official website, www.rockhall.com, and stream the content.

Artists who have given talks in the Foster Theatre over the last 15 years include Aretha Franklin, Robbie Robertson, Jon Anderson of Yes, Mick Jones of the Clash, Ronnie Spector of the Ronettes, Darryl McDaniels of Run-D.M.C., Grandmaster Flash, Chuck D, and Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland from the Police.

Only events held in the Foster Theater will be streamed, the museum said. For a schedule of upcoming events visit http://rockhall.com/events/.

The Rock Hall also has free educational offerings year round. For more information about these and other Rock Hall educational programs, visit www.rockhall.com.
