Music is everywhere in December

The holidays are right around the corner and in the Greater Cincinnati area, music is everywhere.  In fact, there is so much music scheduled in our area that there is no way to list it all here.  Instead, I will highlight a few special shows and guide you to where you can find a more complete list.

First of all, one of the most delightful holiday experiences has to be the Cincinnati Pops doing their annual Holiday Show.  This year it will feature Sandy Patty and is scheduled for this Friday, Saturday and Sunday and tickets are $25.00 and up.  You can visit their website for more info.

Are you looking for something a little more spiritual.  The Gaither Christmas Homecoming at the Bank of Kentucky Center, Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 6 p.m. may be your thing.  This traditional religious celebration brings back music and the feelings of the good old Gospel tradition.

If you are looking for something a little harder you could try the 96 Rock Yes, Hello Xmas Show at Bogart's, December 10, 2011 at 7. p.m..  This show will not be for the faint of heart and will feature Puddle of Mudd and Pop Evil.

If you are not yet in the holiday spirit and you want something different, let me recommend something off the beaten path.  Many will visit the Playhouse in the Park for the annual production of A Christmas Carol, but let me recommend Always... Patsy Cline.  I saw this show several years ago at the Playhouse and it was fantastic.  A Christmas Carol runs through December 30, 2011 and Always... Patsy Cline runs through January 22, 2012.

For the most complete listing of all events, I recommend the searchable calendar of events from the Cincinnati Enquirer.  There are several categories to choose from and you can search by the date.  Most of all have a happy holiday, filled with music, cheer and peace on earth.
