Music is Art festival kicks off this Saturday in Buffalo NY. This is the 11th year for the festival that draws over 25,000 attendees to this one day event, showcasing over 150 local bands, over 70 artists and photographers, over a dozen dance troupes, live art displays, and an amazing kids village. The festival takes place at Delaware Park by the Marcy Casino 10am-10pm. The Music is art organization puts on the festival every September. The Festival is, as always, free to attend thanks to its many sponsors and partners.

Music is Art was started by Robby Takac who is one of the founding members of the Goo Goo Dolls, He is the band's bassist and was formerly the lead singer on the Goo Goo Dolls' earlier albums. He states "Music is Art is based on the belief that everyone should have the opportunity to find their musical voice. MiA is dedicated to connecting music and the community, to ensure all types of music are recognized as an important part of our culture.By nurturing new melodies through our annual festival, numerous educational programs and integral partnerships, MiA provides Western New York the chance to experience music in many unique ways."
