I spoke with the creators of Songza and learn an awful lot about the business of online radio. What makes Songza different than Pandora? It is the lack of commercials. You can listen to a Songza playlist straight through with out any interruptions. But like Pandora they also have limitations, they too have 6 skips per 60 seconds but they have a thumbs down feature which will take a song you don’t like off the playlist you’re listening too.
Songza gets their music almost as fast as the blogs do, sometimes even faster, so the new joint you heard would probably be there. Songza has 25 music experts who have carefully created the playlists. The future for Songza seem to be huge, they look to add videos and working with youtube and also working with big brands to enhance the lifestyle of all individuals.
