Bring the family out to Olde Town Gaithersburg between Summit and Diamond Avenues on Sunday September 19 for a day of music, food, arts and crafts, and a whole lot of family-oriented entertainment.

Beginning at 12 noon on Sunday, the streets will be filled with seven different stages of musical entertainment styles ranging from swing and Latin rhythms to the popular hits of the 80’s as The Reagan Years perform. Various performances and demonstrations by local dance academies, martial arts studios, and school organizations will be scheduled on a number of stages throughout the afternoon.

Head on over to the Green Zone where families with young children can enjoy some environmental fun including the Reptiles Alive! presentation which includes boa constrictors, iguanas, and turtles. The Virginia Mobile Aquarium and a touch tank full of sea creatures will also entertain the youngsters for hours. The Mad Science Activity Center also located in the Green Zone provides children with hands-on opportunities to discover the many wonders and inventions discovered by famous scientists long ago.

The Festival also features two different food courts full of tasty treats including kettle corn, funnel cakes, hot dogs, ice cream, and much more. In addition to the many delectables, artisans from all over the world will display their crafts, jewelry and other treasures throughout the City World Market on the streets of Gaithersburg. Come prepared to browse the booths of some incredible one-of-a-kind finds.

The celebrate Gaithersburg festival will take place on Sunday September 19 from 12 noon until 5pm.

Olde Town Gaithersburg was once an agricultural town and a major stop on the B & O Railroad. The district has recently been developed into a more pedestrian friendly community with restaurants and shops, while still maintaining its historic nature through original architecture.
