Cotuit Center for the Arts’ impressive summer season continues with chamber music, Paul Bisaccia’s American Piano and a jazz concert to add to the art exhibits and plays which have been drawing sell-out crowds.
Under the leadership of Executive Director David Kuehn, the Cotuit Center for the Arts has flourished over the past year and continues to improve and impress with independent productions and collaborations with other Cape Cod organizations, as the August music schedule shows.
Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival at Cotuit Center for the Arts
As one of many venues for the Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival, Cotuit Center for the Arts will present a series of three Tuesday evening concerts starting August 2 with a Bach, Schubert and Beethoven program. The following week, August 9, the Cypress String Quartet is featured and on August 16, hear the music of Glinka, Prokofiev, and Saint–Saens. Concerts begin at 8pm.
Cotuit Center for the Arts hosts an evening of the Provincetown Jazz Festival
The 7th Annual Provincetown Jazz Festival runs on Friday and Saturday, August 12 and 13, in Provincetown. On Monday August 15 at 8 pm, the show moves to Cotuit where vocalists Holli Ross of String of Pearls and Dane Vanatter are joined by Bruce Abbott of Cape Cod on sax and flute, Laird Boles on bass and Bart Weisman, founder of the Provincetown Jazz Festival, on drums.
Paul Bisaccia’s Great American Piano Revisited comes to Cape Cod
Gershwin fans will not want to miss this show, Paul will be performing never before heard, unpublished Gershwin tunes from his new CD. Bisaccia will also play ragtime, Sousa marches and more during his Cotuit Center for the Arts Concert on August 31. Proceeds from this show will benefit the Cotuit Library.
