Hartford, CT April 8, 2010 - Talk about making real music. Thursday night at Hartford’s sexiest night spot; Cloud 9 Lounge, Steede Chinan won the Prince Charming Award of the year when he surprised his long time girl friend, Hot 93.7 personality Erica E-Boogie Colman and asked her to marry him at the shows intermission.
The entire night was out of a fairy tale. Steede – musician and co-founder of the artist showcase, Musicology 101, couldn’t have planned it any better. He reached out to all of their family and close friends sending out emails on Facebook with the subject line “Shhhh”… personally inviting them to be a part of their special moment.
The club was packed with talented artists who came out to be a part of the Musicology experience. The energy was high, spirits were flowing, and the people were swaying. Some of the artists that blessed the stage were Ricky Tan, Prestige, Ill Khemyst, 12 Rounds, Marvalyss and Oscar Black who snuck in the side door for a quick appearance.
To add a cherry on top of the evening, well known producer and Musicology 101 regular Ralphie O was celebrating his birthday. That night he posted on his Facebook page, “Had my Family in my heart. An amazing evening at Cloud 9 Lounge, Friends, Music/Business Partners, cake, Patron, and Moet. Celebrating Life and new beginnings. Y'all are the best…I feel unstoppable! Ready to make some Major progress this year, you with it?! :^) Goodnight world.”
From the looks of the pictures on Facebook (courtesy of Robert Cooper) everyone around the club that night was definitely “with it”, Ralphie. And who wouldn’t be after being a part of a night like that. Kerson Raymond, owner of Cloud 9 Lounge confessed, “History was made tonight, this was the first marriage proposal at the club.” To end the night bottles of Moet were popped.
