British rock band Muse will be performing in Dallas this Wednesday at the AAC. They are currently promoting their newest album The 2nd Law on the North American leg of their tour. This marks the bands sixth studio album, released in September 2012.
Muse come from a small town in Devonshire, England named Teignmouth. Members of the band consist of front man Matt Bellamy, lead vocal & guitar; Christopher Wolstenholme, bass; and Dominic Howard, drums.
The trio made acquaintance in the early 1990s during their common enrollment at Teignmouth Community College. They officially formed Muse in 1994. The band eventually received a record deal from American music label Maverick Records. Their debut album, Showbiz, was released in 1999. However, it was their 4th album Black Holes and Revelations that helped them achieve international popularity.
The first single from The 2nd Law, “Survival,” became the official song for last year’s Summer Olympics in London. The band also received the honor of performing the song at the Olympics closing ceremony. The newest single from the album, “Madness,” though not currently in the top 10, is still proving to be very popular throughout the airwaves.
You can catch Muse at The American Airlines Center this Wednesday, March 13th; doors open at 7pm. Tickets are still available through Ticketmaster, but act fast, or else you’ll miss an awesome show. See you guys there!
