"Wow!" exclaimed one Cleveland-area viewer of the Murdoch face-pie incident. "You can barely see Rupert getting hit in the face with the pie from the angle where the camera was behind him, but you can hear people saying, 'No, no, no!' and a woman trying to defend him before the bobbies come."
Indeed, this shocking incident marks what is growing into a huge public scandal with many repercussions over the hacking scandal, with Murdoch claiming that 9/11 widows' phones were not hacked -- however, the public is wary over whether or not the media king knew all or nothing or something about his institution's information-gathering techniques.
After the pie is smashed in Rupert's face, you can hear the official call for a break in the testimony for ten minutes.
During Tuesday's episode of The View, Barbara Walters expressed a somewhat sympathetic bent toward the 80-year-old media mogul, and showed a photo of his new wife, Wendi Deng, sitting behind him during the talks.
Wendi can be seen in the video of the pie-attack jumping up and hitting the man who thrust the pie in her husband's face.
