Would you murder your mother for money?
That's what we're doing to our real mother, our Mother Earth.
Whether it's special-interests like Big Oil and Big Ag looting the planet for every sale-able resource left (future be damned), modern blood-sport trophy hunters and trappers (poachers, all, when you come down to it), or the poor and ignorant, desperate masses logging, over-fishing and polluting the very ground they need to survive, humans are relentlessly driving our precarious living Earth to the brink of cascade failure.
This author has been writing (and warning) for years about how our selfish, greedy and shortsighted behavior will be our undoing. It's astonishing and disheartening to see that, even knowing the ramifications of our current path, people, (especially those with financial stakes in planet-trashing industries) will turn a blind eye or even actively attempt to discredit those of us ringing the alarm bells.
They don't really feel like everything is 'just fine' here, do they?
Maybe greed and lust are just overwhelming the human race - A mad, suicidal rush to send our fragile planet into oblivion.
