Murdered: Soul Suspect is due out for next gen and current generation consoles as well as the PC in June but today Examiner is able to bring you some more exclusive details about the game. Matt Brunner, Airtight Games’ Chief Creative Officer sat down with us and let us in on a bit more details involving Soul Suspect’s side cases.
The existence of Murdered’s side cases was revealed on Tuesday and the game’s developers were quick to point out they believe they add something important to the game. In Murdered: Soul Suspect, gamers take on the role of Ronan O’Connor, a private detective in Salem, Massachusetts who has been (as the title indicates) murdered and he must now solve the crime.
Soul Suspect allows gamers to indeed solve that crime, but there are also other cases the player must take on in order to uncover important clues about the main mission. Brunner talked about the several different kinds of side activities that make up the cases.
Brunner said there are, “collectables that give the player backstory and information about the main characters as well as the town and its history.” He added there are also, “collectables that result in a ghost story that weaves a tale about a specific event that occurred on the site you are exploring.”
During the investigations, the chief executive at the game’s developers also said you will have the ability, as O’Connor to actually read the mind of living NPCs inside the game. There will also be those like you, ghosts who have unsettled business and need your help to move on. These “mini-investigations” will also likely lead gamers to clues about their own case. There are also other ghosts O’Connor can enter into short dialogues that will get players on the right path in finding their killer.
Murdered: Soul Suspect is set to be released for the Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on June 3.
