On Tuesday it was reported that Shabana Ansari, the widow of the Chicago lottery winner who died of cyanide poisoning one day after receiving his winnings, was sharing details about the case.
Ansari says that she wasn't the one to ask the state's medical examiner's office to look back into her husband's untimely death. And she says she doesn't know who did that.
Urooj Khan's death was originally thought to be due to natural causes, such as a hardening of his coronary arteries, but a family member felt the circumstances were suspicious and asked the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office to look back into the death.
Khan, 46, died following dinner with his wife at home in July of last year, one day after his lottery win acceptance event.
Khan's wife revealed that her husband had no known enemies, according to Fox News, with the Chicago lottery winner's widow saying, "I don't think anyone would have a bad eye for him or that he had any enemy." And that appears to be why police have not named a suspect at this time, and they have not made an arrest in the case.
The Mirror reported that the check for Khan's lottery winnings was cashed the month following his death.
