In advance of their return to the big screen, the Muppet gang have shown up at the AMC Theatres to offer audiences some movie-going etiquette. The Muppets are the newest faces promoting AMC’s policies in a trailer.
The trailer, which was also released to Muppet Studios YouTube channel on Oct. 9, features familiar faces. Miss Piggy, Kermit the Frog, Gonzo, Animal and Pepe all appear, as well as walk-ons by less well-known Muppets.
The trailer did what I didn’t think was possible – making AMC Theatre’s “Resist the Urge – No Talking or Texting During the Movie” policy trailer a must-see.

The Muppets deliver the AMC Theatres’ movie policy with their usual sense of wacky fun, with bad jokes by Fozzie, head-banging by Animal, and the threat of the Swedish Chef blowing something up.
The capper is the commentary by critics Waldorf and Statler, who remind audiences in a one-two punchline:
“If you’re going to see the Muppets, you’ve got to see them in the theatre,” says Waldorf.
Agrees Statler, “Yeah, you don’t want to let them into your home.”
Of course, a huge part of the fun in the AMC Theatres trailer is exactly that – the anticipation for the upcoming “The Muppets” movie.
“The Muppets” official synopsis:
When Walter, the world's biggest Muppet fan, his brother Gary (Jason Segel) and Gary’s girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater, they help Kermit reunite the Muppets to stage a telethon and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater.
In addition to the Muppets themselves, the movie features human stars, among others, Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, Rashida Jones, Alan Arkin, Jack Black, Billy Crystal, Zach Galifianakis, Kathy Griffin, Ricky Gervais and Emily Blunt.
As the AMC Theatres trailer reminds audiences, “The Muppets” will be released to movie theaters. Nov. 23, 2011.
