Every year, Charles and Sandra McKee open their fabulously detailed abode, dedicated to the show for a charitable soiree. The house has been molded into an extremely accurate replica of the Munster house from the show, popular in the 1960's, from life-sized wax models of the characters, to custom built furniture and spiderwebs, even the coffin telephone booth has made the cut.
This year the party will benefit the Waxahachie Senior Citizen Center. Costume contest, bounce houses and 40 minute tours of the house are only part of the fun. DJ's, fire breathers, and entertainers line the property. And of course, the chance to buy memorabilia and get an autograph and picture with Pat Priest, who played Marilynn, cannot be topped. Pat attends the charity event almost annually.
Visitors will be invited inside the privately-owned home for a guided tour of the rooms lived and played in by characters and all the memorabilia these fans could find. There is also a toy and souvenir room with the Munsters theme displaying the huge variety of Munsters merchandise from the 1960's to today.
The quirkiness and spunk of this home can only be enjoyed by the public during this event once a year, so don't pass up the chance to see it in person. There are no advance tickets, so be there and be ready for some creepy family fun for a great cause!
