The Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) and the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) actively work to oppose enforcement of illegal immigration laws.
According to ACCG's website, the group is a non-profit instrumentality of Georgia’s county governments. Formed in 1914 with 19 charter county members, today ACCG serves as the consensus building, training, and legislative organization for all 159 county governments in the state. With this primary charge, ACCG works to ensure that the counties can provide the necessary leadership, services and programs to meet the health, safety and welfare needs of their citizens.
The GMA's "purpose is to anticipate and influence the forces shaping Georgia's communities and to provide leadership, tools and services that assist local governments in becoming more innovative, effective and responsive."
Georgia municipalities and counties pay upwards of $30,000/year of taxpayer monies for the services of ACCG and GMA.
However, both groups actively lobbied at the Geogia Capitol and represent constant and powerful opposition to each and every bill that would serve to protect jobs and benefits in Georgia. One such bill that the ACCG & GMA lobbied against was HB1164, which in its original form punished those who hired illegal labor and promoted the use of E-Verify. However, after ACCG's and GMA's efforts, the bill was severely watered-down and did not make it out of the House.
Georgia Representative Jay Powell (R-171) and former President of the ACCG remained committed to his former employer, not his constituents, as evidenced in the video below:

Good work, Inger! We must shine the sunlight on these rats & cockroaches and then fumigate them as they scatter! Here in GA there is still a chance to stop them, with the help of citizen watch groups like the Dustin Inman Society & your reporting. Otherwise the traitor rats will burrow into the system like they have in CA. And then there will be NO voice for the people at all!
