Do you enjoy family fun, live entertainment, food and SWEETCORN? Then you just might enjoy a weekend of activites located at one of the largest festivals located in Champaign county: The Urbana Sweetcorn Festival! This weekend, August 26th and 27th 2011, Urbana will be packed with festival goers snacking on festival food, dancing to music and stocking up on sweetcorn.
There are plenty of local headline bands that include the Bratt Pack, the Feudin Hillbillys and the Boat Drunks. These bands will turn up on the music beginning around 5pm on Friday and Saturday night. There will also be plenty of other live music throughout the day on the One Community Stage too. Other live music includes a couple of Jazz bands, a string band and some world music.
Kids will have fun on the inflatables located on the Country Plaza on Broadway Street. There will also be a professional wrestling show and some cute baby animals from the Decatur Scoville Zoo. Your children will love seeing the zoo animals while some of the guys will get engrossed in the wrestling tournament.
If you enjoy looking at old cars, don't forget to check out the Annual Motor Muster car show which is one of the highlights of the Urbana Sweetcorn Festival. Bring your cameras to check out some of the parked auto beauties.
Admission is totally free at the Sweetcorn Festival. Bring your appetite to eat your way through the festival and invite your closest friends and family. Pull up a long chair to listen to the music and make sure you grab some delicious sweetcorn along the way!
