Break out the banjos. Six-time Grammy award nominated British band, Mumford and Sons, will perform on Francis Field on West Castillo Drive in St. Augustine on September 13 and 14. St. Augustine is one of only three American stops picked by the band and its producers, who were quoted as calling its operation "a model for other cities to adopt, and if that happened, the world would be a better place," citing its focus both on its own history and forward progress, like green initiatives.
The Gentlemen of the Road Stopover Tour will feature other seemingly out-of-mainstream bands, like fun., Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, The Vaccines, Willy Mason, Bear's Den, Half-Moon Run and Those Darlins.
Released in September of 2012, their second and signature album, Babel, features the title track, Broken Crown, Reminder, and the big hit, I Will Wait. Their unique blend of Irish rock, Appalachian mountain music, and roots folk sounds like a rough, raw bluegrass and will be well received in a town rich with old music heritage.
