Multiples and birthday invitations

Examiner community, what is your opinion of the etiquette around kids' birthday parties?

1) Should all the multiples be invited to every party?  If they're not, what do you say to the ones who are left out?

2) If all of your kids are invited to the same party, do you buy one communal gift, or does each child give a separate present?

The internet offers arguments on both sides.  This suggests to me that the best etiquette, as always, is to consider what would give the most pleasure to the receiving parent/child, and go from there.  Your kids will learn that the "rules" are far less important than thinking of others.

What say you?
