Less than a month after they snagged the United States' first-ever gold medal in ice dancing at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, Meryl Davis and Charlie White will take their considerable talents to prime time as celebrity contestants on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars," according to the official March 4 cast reveal. Also chosen to compete was Paralympic star Amy Purdy, who will dance with five-time "DWTS" pro winner Derek Hough.

Davis and White expressed an interest in competing on the hit reality dance competition prior to the Olympics, with Davis telling Examiner on Jan. 22 that the pair would be "really excited" to take part if asked. Although it was Hough who choreographed their "My Fair Lady" short program, Davis will work with popular pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, whose previous partners have included "Cheers" actress Kirstie Alley, boxer Laila Ali, and newly minted "Dancing with the Stars" co-host and Fox Sports sideline reporter Erin Andrews, among others. Chmerkovskiy returns to the show after a two-season hiatus.

White, 26, will compete on the arm of Sharna Burgess in her third season as a pro coach. Her previous partners were comedian and actor Andy Dick, and former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson.

The duo aroused suspicions that they planned to compete on "DWTS" when they opted not to take part in the 2014 Figure Skating World Championships.

Para-snowboarder Purdy, 34, who will take part in the 2014 Paralympic Games in Sochi, will make history as the first-ever double amputee to compete for the coveted mirror ball trophy. She lost both legs below the knee after a bout with meningitis at age 19, but has excelled in sport and in life thanks to her consistently positive attitude and outlook.

Following the "Good Morning America" cast reveal, Purdy hit Twitter to share her excitement with followers, writing "I couldn't be more excited or more honored to be paired with this amazing human @derekhough for @DancingABC ! Travel safe, see you soon!"

The 2014 Paralympic Games officially open on March 7. "Dancing with the Stars" 2014 premieres March 17 on ABC.
