These next two months, in Lima and all across Northwest Ohio, thousands are signing up for the 2010 'Walk MS' walks.
People can sign up with a team, make their own team or even sign up to walk as a single walker declaring their fight against this debilitating disease.
MS is a disease in which the myelin sheath, a fatty coating around the nerves of the brain and spinal cord, are damaged causing scarring that range from problems with swallowing to coordination and cognitive difficulties.
It usually occurs in young adults, is more common in women and though it is most likely occuring with combinations of genetic, environment and infectious factors, there is not, as yet, a definitive cause of MS.
The list, starting with Lima's walk, is below with the dates they are being held. To sign up for each walk, click on the name of the city or county where you live; that link will take you directly to your website to sign up.
