Multiple Pennsylvania witnesses report single lights crossing sky

Pennsylvania witnesses in separate reports describe a bright, white light crossing the sky on July 1, 2011, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

A man and his son noticed the object on July 1 in MUFON Case # 29838.

"It looked like a very bright star and traveled maybe the speed of a jet or slower - did not change directions at all," the witness stated.

Also on July 1, another Pennsylvania witness reports first seeing a bright, white light two nights earlier in MUFON Case # 29840.

"It was like a star but much brighter," the witness stated. "I watched it go slow and steady all the way across the sky, then as it got over Jersey, it dimmed and vanished."

Then on July 1, the same light returned.

"I was watching a plane going to Philly airport when my eye was caught by a moving star to the right. It then flared up to the exact same brightness from two nights ago, and it wasn't a question. I instantly knew it was the same thing, then dimmed out and vanished right before my eyes."

Another Pennsylvania witness who lives 15 miles from Philadelphia Airport reports an object in the sky on June 29, 2011, in MUFON Case # 29841.

"At that time I saw another light come from behind me, moving south," the witness stated. "It caught my attention because there were no strobes at all. I'm not good at judging altitudes, but I would guess 2500 feet. I watched it as it headed south, waiting to see if I could hear any sound as it progressed. I live in a very quiet, rural suburb and if this object had made a noise I would definitely have heard it at the altitude it was, but there was no noise from it that I could hear. I watched it moving rather slowly across the sky until all of a sudden it just blinked out. I was surprised and thought that maybe it had gone behind a cloud (even though I was pretty sure it was well beneath any clouds), but I watched for another five minutes and I never saw it again.

"The object was a low, glowing object. I couldn't see if there was any shape to it. It moved smoothly and slowly from north to south, towards New Jersey, south of Philadelphia International Airport. The object did not fade away into the distance but rather just turned off in mid flight. The whole event took maybe two minutes from first sight to when it disappeared."

And another Pennsylvania witness came forward July 1 to file a report on a June 30 sighting of 10 to 12 UFOs while fishing in Warren in MUFON Case # 29831.

Another July 1 report from Pennsylvania also describes a single light in the sky on June 30 in MUFON Case # 29827.

"Not too far from the direction that these planes came from I saw a very large light that at first I thought might have been a planet, but I had never seen it before," the witness stated. "It was very bright and very low on the horizon, but definitely above the mountains. It sat stationary for about five minutes while I was on the porch and I then went to get my brother and grab a camera. When I got back, it was gone. It looked very much like what a planet looks like, except 3-4 times larger in perspective. Whatever this was, it was in the atmosphere."

Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If Pennsylvania MUFON State Director John Ventre investigates and reports back on these cases, I will release an update. Please report UFO activity to MUFON.com. The above quotes were edited for clarity. If town names are not mentioned here, they were not included in the public portion of the MUFON report. No images or videos were included with these reports.
