Multiplatform plans for Fez.

Whether they were positive or negative, last year's independent platformer Fez inspired strong reactions across the board from the gaming community, and according to creator Phil Fish the game will soon be open to a much wider audience. In a blog post made in the last hours of 2012, Fish discussed plans for a multiplatform release of Fez.

"2012 was crazy," he said. "But what now? 2013 is going to be an interesting one, too. For one, Fez will finally be ported to other platforms. Yes, I’ve heard you, dozens of people emailing me everyday telling me how much of an idiot I am for not porting Fez to everything."

Fish also offhandedly mentioned that his studio, polytron, has other games in development, as well as musing about stretching into other media:

"Beyond that however, the future is uncertain for polytron. It’s just me now. I could do anything with this company, but I don't know what yet. There’s a couple of new games in the pipeline, of course. But there’s also an ambition to do so much more. I want to design everything! Maybe not a video game? Maybe something else entirely. I JUST DON'T KNOW."

Whatever exactly Fish decides to do next, it's a safe bet that he'll do everything he can to command as much attention to it as his freshman work.
